If you’ve gotten ahold of Outriders recently, you might be running into some stuttering issues. While this wasn’t very apparent in the game’s demo, you might be running into some stuttering / graphical glitches once you’ve gotten ahold of the full PC game. We’re going to be talking about a few ways you can reduce or completely get rid of the stuttering issues in Outriders.
While Outriders does seem to be a well-optimized game, according to the game’s system requirements, you might be running into a few issues here and there, especially if you barely meet the minimum or recommended system requirements. We’re hoping the developers release a new update real soon to help with the overall performance.

We’ve compiled these fixes into a comprehensive guide for you to follow so you can get rid of the issue once and for all.
Avoid DX12 on NVIDIA and AMD
If you’ve been playing the game on the latest version of Microsoft’s DirectX, don’t. The game doesn’t seem to be running well with the API, and users have reported tons of issues and crashes with DX12. You should instead switch to DX12. Here’s how you can do so.

Alternative Method:

- Ansel: Off

- FPS Limit: Enabled (Native Refresh Rate))
- Windowed Mode
Enable Controller Configuration in Outriders
To fix the stuttering issue, you can also enable Controller Configuration in Outriders. The developers have recommended players do this even if they aren’t using a Controller due to a technical glitch in the game. Here’s how you can enable the option:
- Launch Steam in Big Picture Mode:
- Click View on the Top Left of your screen and then on Big Picture Mode
- Once in Big Picture Mode, press the Gear Icon found the Main Menu

Note: If you are still experiencing stuttering, we recommend uninstalling your Drivers using DDU and re-installing them again.
