If your EA account has just been hacked, you need to act quickly. The first few hours are the most crucial as that’s probably where you still have some control of your account. Even if you don’t though, we’ve listed down steps that help you regain control of your account.
Generally, the first indicator of your account being hacked is your EA ID‘s password changing. If you’ve used the same passwords elsewhere, we recommend changing them as soon as possible so that no other accounts of yours are compromised.
Steps to Follow When EA Account is Hacked
We’ve listed down our steps ranging from things you should try out first and those which ultimately are last resorts. Here they are:
Access your Account on Another Device
If you just are not able to access your account on one device but are able to do so on another, here’s what you need to do after you log in:
- Reset your EA Account Password
- Reset the password of the Email address connected to your Email account
After doing so, follow the steps mentioned here to secure your EA account once and for all.
Note: If you play on console, you should also secure your PSN ID / Xbox Gamertag / Nintendo Account.
Contacting Support
If you’ve secured all your other accounts but your EA Account remains inaccessible, no worries. You can contact support and they’ll have you sorted in no time.
