Clash Royale is an all-time popular mobile game, developed by Supercell. It started out as a full on multiplayer tower defense game, but the mechanics work like a card game. Trade Tokens, as the name suggests, is an in-game currency that you can use to exchange cards with other players or the Trader NPC available during Clan Wars. This comes in handy to trade and obtain cards that you do not have in your collection.
If you have just started playing Clash Royale, Trade Tokens may seem confusing since here are no proper guides available on how to get them. So with this guide, we hope to answer all the questions you may have about Trade Tokens in Clash Royale. We will also share the types of tokens available, their rarity and how you can use them in the game to trade cards with other players.
These tokens are available to obtain in different rarity i.e. Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The higher the rarity, the better chances of getting a powerful card in your collection. There is one Token for each rarity, except Champions, and the number of cards you can trade per Token is as follows:
- Legendary Token: 1 Legendary card
- Epic Token: 10 Epic cards
- Rare Token: 50 Rare cards
- Common Token: 250 Common cards

How to Get Trade Tokens in Clash Royale
You can get Trade Tokens in Clash Royale by four different methods. To get these Trade Tokens, there are two free methods that you can follow, or else you can spend real money to buy them.
One of the free options to obtain Trade Tokens is by completing different events, challenges and global tournaments. You can get Trade Tokens as rewards from certain Challenges and Events. By achieving the required number of wins, you will get rewarded with Trade Tokens.
The other option is to progress through the Trophy Road as part of a Clan to get Trade Tokens in reward. By reaching a certain amount of Trophies, you can get your hands on some Trade Tokens from the Trophy Road! You can then use these tokens to exchange Epic or Legendary cards with other teammates or the Trader.
The premium options include buying them from the in-game Shop. You will occasionally see Trade Tokens as part of in-app purchase offers. You can also find Trade Tokens in Pass Royale. One Token of each rarity is awarded once you grind your way to the respective Tiers.
How to Use Trade Tokens in Clash Royale
As mentioned earlier, Trade Tokens are used for trading cards with other players in your clan or with the Trader. You need to be at least King Level 8 or higher to be able to trade. If you have not reached the required level yet, you can still obtain Trade Tokens until you are able to use them. If you have even one Trade Token, you can start trading by selecting a teammate and then tap on the Request Card button.
This will open up the Trade screen where you will be shown the cards you want to trade and the available Trade Tokens. This is how you can use the Tokens in Clash Royale.
