Splitgate has just been released and with the plethora of players storming in to play the game, there have been some issues going around that have rendered the game unplayable in some instances. We’re going to be listing down all these issues alongside plausible fixes for each of them.
We’ve tried to amass the most common issues we could get a hold of. Since the developers have still not put up a tally of what issues are currently being reported in the game, it is up to the community to fend for themselves.
Splitgate Known Issues (and Fixes)
We’ve taken the liberty of compiling the most common issues currently being faced by players in Splitgate. These include connection problems, not being able to complete challenges, and more. Thankfully, we’ve also found fixes for each of these issues as well.
Here is the official list of all the Splitgate known issues, revealed by 1047 Games, as of updated on September 1, 2021:
1. Can’t Complete Daily Challenges
Issue: Challenges don’t count regardless of you completing them or not.
Fix: Play a game of Takedown or win any other Simulation map.
2. Getting Bots In Multiplayer Matches
Issue: Even if you have crossed Level 10, you’ll still end up getting Bots in your lobby.
Fix: After you cross Level 10, play only Multiplayer Ranked matches.

3. Mouse Accelaration Issue
Issue: Shots feel extremely laggy with a resounding amount of delay
Fix:
Firstly, Navigate to:
C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\PortalWars\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Add the following inside of Engine.ini
[/script/engine.engine]

Second, add this to Input.ini

4. Character Walks Backwards
Issue: Character starts walking backwards in the middle of the game
Fix: Either un-bind the key and re-bind it or send a message in chat!

5. Trickster Achievement Not Unlocking
Issue: Get a portal kill, but the achievement still doesn’t show up.
Fix: Make the player fall to their death from your portal.
6. Unable to Connect to Splitgate Servers
Issue: Whether you validate your game files or flush your DNS cache, Splitgate still refuses to connect on your particular account.
Fix:
- Install the groot-g2 certificate
- Make sure that the file extension is .crt instead of .html
- If you are unable to see .html in the file name, open File Explorer and check File Name Extensions
