Destiny 1 & 2 servers are currently down right now, as scheduled and confirmed by the developers at Bungie. The maintenance downtime was announced on all of the game’s social channels. So if you had plans to play the game right now, you will have to sit tight for a while until this maintenance gets over.
Do not expect a new patch or update going up this soon, in fact, this is more of a visual change in-game as the developers wanted to remove all the festive decorations from the game and welcome the brand new year. This maintenance should last about four hours or so, so stay tuned for more information.
Destiny 2: Servers Down Right Now
The following statement was released by Bungie regarding the maintenance work going on right now:
We will update back here once the servers get back online and you all can get back to looting again.
