However, if you want to get ahold of these runes, you have a certain grind set up for you. Particularly, if you have been trying to find High Runes in Diablo 2: Resurrected.
In which case you better put on your big boy pants, because this is going to be an adventure of a lifetime. As we will provide you with the way to get them but are you ready for the arduous grind they entail?
Diablo 2: Resurrected: What are High Runes?
High rune is a term used by players for runes that are considered to be amongst the most valuable of them all. As they go higher in value, it gets more difficult to find them, however, we have made this list to let you in on all the locations and bosses that drop them.
Secret Cow Level
One of the best places to farm high runes is without a doubt, the secret cow level. To access the secret level, however, you would need to have done some preparation. To create a portal to the Cow Level, you would first need to have killed the final boss of that difficulty and then combine a Wirt’s Leg and a Tome of Town Portal in the Horadric Cube while standing in the rogue encampment.
This will open up a red portal leading you to the secret cow level. Now the reason for this level being our favorite to farm high runes is due to a large number of enemies you can take on, each with a decent chance of dropping a high chest and, you’ve guessed it, High Runes!
Travincal
Another great place to farm for high runes is to go through the Travincal as they have a comparatively high drop rate. They have a probability of dropping up to Zod which is the most valuable high rune in the game.
The farm for high runes at the Travincal is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is keep on killing the spawns till you get your hands on the rune you want.
Chaos
A list of the best places to farm high runes would be incomplete without mention of the chaos. This place takes the best of both the Cow Level and the Travincal and merges them into one giant farm ground for high runes.
Similar to the Cow level, you would be faced with a large number of monsters with a decent drop rate for high runes. You just have to slash your way through piles of monster carcasses to that rune you have always desired.
Honorable Mentions
There are a few other places that you can count upon in your search for high runes; however, not as great as the ones mentioned above but you never know when you might strike gold. So we are going to mention a few bosses and areas that didn’t make the main list but deserve a spot in the honorable mentions.
- The Countess on hell difficulty
- Andariel on hell difficulty
- Duriel on hell difficulty
- Baal on hell difficulty
- The arcane sanctuary
If you do not find the runes you were looking for, don’t be dishearted as these places come along with a lot of other high-tier loot you can do well with having around.
