Overview
Well, first of all, the gun was mistaken to be a burst firing assault rifle, but the confusion got over after the developers cleared that it is a fully automatic AR. The effectiveness of the prime of this particular weapon is medium and long-range gun battles. You will be winning your fights easily, more often than not, at the longer ranges. It has great accuracy, low recoil, and good range and fire rate, which makes it very useful in any mode of the game.
Also, unlocking the gun will not take much of your time, since it is available at the 21st tier of the battle pass, which can be reached easily. Many players have already started to use the gun in multiplayer as well as ranked mode. It can also be useful in competitive if you know how to properly play with the weapon.

Best Perks to Equip with FR .556
We will be suggesting multiple perks from each category for the weapon to make it even better than it already is. Secondly it will also help you in winning your gunfights.
Red Perks
So firstly, we will begin with the red perk. Light weight is a great choice if you opt for that, as it will compensate for the lost movement speed due to some attachments.
Light weight: Sprinting speed is increased by 10% and fall damage is greatly reduced.
Since the mobility falls down a bit by using the suggested gunsmith loadout, so to counter that, you can use the lightweight perk which will help you in increasing your movement speed.
Secondly, you can go for the persistance perk if you want to secure your scorestreaks in respawn modes.
Persistance: Scorestreak progression does not reset on death, but Scorestreaks costs are doubled.
Green Perks
Toughness is the way to go in the green perk category. Furthermore, you would want to use the hard wired perk in Search and Destroy mode to not get killed by an enemy trip mine.
Toughness: Reduces flinch from damage received by 60%
Hard Wired: Immune to Counter-UAVs and EMP Grenades, and no longer trigger Trip Mines. Reduces the effectiveness of enemy Tracker perks.
Blue Perk
Since dead silence has been nerfed, you can go for any of the perks in this category, depending on your playstyle. However, we suggest using the shrapnel or the Hardline perk.
Hardline: Increase points earned by killing enemies by 25%.
This perk will help you in getting your scorestreaks faster as you will be getting extra 25% points after getting any kill.
Talking about shrapnel, then it can also be used in the game if your strategy is to use two lethal items.
Shrapnel: Spawn with extra piece of lethal equipment. Explosive damage delays enemy health regeneration.
This was our complete guide about the FR .556 assault rifle. The gun is great if you want to take medium and long-range fights, but it will suffer in shorter ranges. So, make sure to use it according to its playstyle.
