Facebook’s Connect 2021 is ripe with new VR-specific game releases. However, the most surprising one was the introduction of a VR version for GTA: San Andreas. With no release date announced just yet, the project has apparently been in the pipeline for many years now and has finally been revealed.
The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerburg commented on the VR iteration of the iconic game as a new way to explore the open world. Set in the heart of Grove Street, GTA San Andreas follows the story of Carl Johnson aka “CJ” as he stifles around town stealing cars and ordering two number 9’s with his friends.
GTA: San Andreas VR – What To Expect?
There still hasn’t been a lot of o information as to what can be expected from the game. However, we have confirmed that the game will indeed be a faithful port. The port is not to be confused with the remastered version of the GTA Trilogy titled the Definitive Edition which will be released later this year.
As of yet, with no strict release date in sight, we can expect the game to still be at least a few months in the making. As for now, the game is apparently just supported on the Oculus Quest 2. While no explicit comments have been made, we doubt that the game will be coming to third-party platforms like Steam VR, the HTC Vive, and other VR headsets. However only time will tell.
