Having the right FOV can change your entire gameplay experience as you will see more of your surroundings and react swiftly to any threat. This also means that you won’t feel motion sickness if you are prone to that. Let’s find out what is the best Vanguard FOV settings, and you must also see our best graphics settings guide for the game.
Best FOV Settings for Call of Duty: Vanguard
Having control over the FOV can make or break the game for most players as it allows you to properly adjust your view according to your liking. Luckily, Call of Duty: Vanguard allows you to adjust this slider since launch and on all supported platforms.
How to Adjust Vanguard FOV Settings
Whether you are on a console or PC, you can go to the game’s settings to adjust this slider. Here are all the steps you need to follow:
- Launch the game
- Go to Settings
- Click on the Graphics tab
- Scroll down until you find Field of View
- Set the slider according to your preference
Now that you know how to adjust the FOV settings, let’s find out what the best settings are depending on what platform you are playing on.
Best FOV Settings for Consoles
When you launch the game for the first time, the Field of View will be set at 80. We suggest increasing it because 80 isn’t ideal if you are playing on a console with a controller. While you can set it all the way up to 120, the optimal setting will be to put it between 90-105.
The reason why you shouldn’t put the FOV at 120 is that the enemies will appear smaller thus making them harder to hit especially when playing with a controller. Having it anywhere between 90-105 will not decrease the size of other players and still allow you to see a lot more than before.
On top of that, there is another setting that you can select when adjusting the FOV slider. Make sure that you turn on Independent FOV. This allows the game to return to 80 FOV when you are aiming down sight. Most players prefer this as it provides a nice balance, especially when zooming in. Having this setting turned on will also ensure that you do not miss your shots when using ADS.

Optimal FOV Settings for PC Players
Since PC players use a mouse and a keyboard, they can use a little higher Field of View since a mouse and keyboard provides better control. We recommend putting the FOV somewhere between 105-115. Again, we wouldn’t suggest having a 120 FOV as it stretches out the screen; causing the game to look distorted.
As with the console setting, you will once again want to select the Independent FOV so using ADS isn’t difficult.
Does FOV Affect Performance?
Increasing your Field of View settings will have an impact on your performance. The higher you go, the more your FPS will be affected. If you are playing on PC, we suggest following our guide to have the best graphics settings in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Keep in mind that if you are playing on older generation consoles or barely meeting the minimum requirements, do not increase your FOV as it lowers your FPS.
If you have newer consoles or a high-end PC, increasing the FOV will not have any effect on performance.
