Rainbow Six Extraction: How to Fix Server Connection Error

There are a few fixes that you can try in order to fix this issue. Hopefully, you will find a solution in this guide that will allow you to play the game again. These fixes are proposed by the members of the community and from our experiences.

Verify Game Files

Whenever trouble with a game comes up, you should drop everything else, and try verifying the integrity of the local game files. Although this sounds very sarcastic or vague, trust us, more often than naught, this will work.

Ubisoft Launcher

If you bought the game through Ubisoft Connect, or are a Game Pass subscriber, here is how you can verify the game files.

  • Open Ubisoft Connect and select Games at the top left
  • Now, in your library, select Rainbow Six Extraction
  • After this, select Properties in the left
  • Now, under Local files, click on Verify files
  • If prompted, select Repair

Steam

  • Launch Steam.
  • Navigate to your library.
  • Right-click on the name of the game you are having troubles with.
  • Click on properties.
  • Navigate to local files.
  • And from there, click on the Verify Integrity Of Game Files.

Epic Games Store

If you bought the game through Epic Games Launcher, you might need to follow these steps.

  • Open your Library in the launcher
  • Now, click on the three dots next to Rainbow Six Extraction
  • Click on the Verify button

Reset Your Router

Sometimes, resetting your router can fix the issue. Make sure to turn off your router for at least 10-15 seconds before pressing the button to turn it on again. Also, we suggest you use a wired connection. Whether you are playing on console or PC, using a wired connection will help you out a lot.

Restart Your PC

If all else fails, try to restart your PC and launch the game again. Hopefully, it will fix the issue but this is not the best solution. If it doesn’t fix it, then you might have to wait to see if the devs release an update. You can contact the devs and tell them your problem to bring light to it.

Use a DNS

Sometimes using a new DNS rather than your default one could get you through a server connection error. In consoles, you can:

  • Change your DNS setting by visiting the Advanced Network Options

On a PC, you can:

  • Set a new DNS by opening up your Network and Internet Setting
  • Head to Advanced Settings > More Network Adaptor Options
  • Go to the Properties of your active PC network
  • Change the DNS setting of your IPv4 or IPv6 connection

You can search online for different DNS addresses that would work best in your region.

If none of the above fixed your problem, make sure to submit a ticket at Ubisoft Support and ask for help from the game’s development team. You can also share the problem with the Ubisoft Support account on Twitter.
