All Known Issues and Bugs in NBA 2K22

This guide will take a look at the recent and commonly faced issues that the majority of the users are facing. However, we are certain that the developers will fix these issues in the upcoming updates. With that said, let’s take a look at the NBA 2K22 bugs and known issues.

Can’t Skip Time/Game While on Bench

Your player will often get sent to the bench if you are too tired or not performing well in MyCareer. Normally, you would get the option to skip time until your player gets off the bench again. However, a rare bug does not allow you to do so. As you can probably tell, this gets really frustrating as you are essentially back seat gaming your team while time slowly passes by. There are a few fixes but none seem to be permanent from the sounds of it.

First of all, try to ALT + TAB in and out of the game a couple of times. If that doesn’t work, go into settings and set the game to 60hz and turn Vsync on.

Suddenly Stopped Getting VC

Virtual Currency – or VC in short – is the currency that you use in MyCareer mode to boost your player. Whether you develop your skills or customize your apparel, you will need a lot of VC for it. However, an increasing amount of players have reported that they suddenly stopped getting VC. Keep in mind that you only get VC if you are selected in the NBA; not for college or pre-draft games. It’s unclear why this issue happens but it is quite annoying as you won’t be able to upgrade your player if you don’t get any VC. For now, we can just wait for an official update to fix this issue.

Error Popping Up to Say Missing Files

This seems to be happening to quite a lot of players recently. When you start your game, an error will pop up saying that you are missing a file even if you just recently played the game. For some reason, one of the files can get corrupted or even deleted if it is seen as a virus by your PC. To fix this, verify file integrity via Steam and the missing files will start to automatically download. This should fix your issue.

Game Crashes Randomly

Game crashing seems to be an issue that almost every player faces in their life. The exact reason is unclear but NBA 2K22 takes it to the next level. You might be playing the game perfectly fine and then all of a sudden, the game crashes. This can happen at any time and without any apparent reason. Some players cannot even play MyCareer as their game crashes immediately when they press the option. We do not have a fix for this and we can only hope that an update fixes it. Till then, make sure that you are meeting the system requirements and try to lower the settings to see if it works or not.

Cannot Upgrade Your Player in MyCareer

MyCareer seems to be having a lot of issues this year. For some reason, you may come across a bug that will all of a sudden stop you from upgrading your player. As you can tell, upgrading your player is an essential part of MyCareer otherwise you will lack behind. However, even if you have enough VC, the popup will always say Purchase Failed. The only solution we could find is to restart your game and hope it works.

Players Turn Invisible

This has to be one of the most hilarious bugs that we have come across. Whether it happens suddenly or its always been like this, players have reported that all of the players are invisible in every mode. We can only assume that this happens due to a corrupted file or something. To fix it, verify file integrity and you will be good to go.

Those are all the NBA 2K22 bugs and known issues that certain players are facing. Hopefully, you can fix these issues by following our small solutions otherwise you will have to wait for an update for the game. Let us know in the comments below if you are facing any other issues. 1. Had an issue playing neighborhood with my son. For some reason he couldn’t pass me the ball. When he did, regardless of where we were on the court it would always pass to our 3rd teamate. Just asking if its a common issue or just some weird glitch that was taken place.

  2. I think a lot of these errors are a result of too many players turning the consol off improperly and thus possibly corrupting the files in some way

    • What are you? One of the devs trying to pretend that there are no issues? A friend and I play MyNBA (franchise mode) with 2 teams, we do a fantasy draft, load the classic draft classes, and only play our head to head games while simming everything else (the only games we played with computer teams were Game 7s). He recently got a PS5 and we started a new one (never once had a problem with PS3 or PS4). On the PS5 we were constantly getting the general crash code with corrupted/ missing files message. He actually found a work around where he would select all the teams as “User” and then sim to the point where we play head to head. Now, going from Season 4 into Season 5 the game crashes, the previous work around doesn’t work on that screen. We tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. From making sure every roster had the right number of players to clearing the cache to making sure all the updates were right. We even traded the game in to make sure it wasn’t a disc issue. So he just started a new one and simmed and added the classic players we had drafted. Everything was going fine until the transition from Season 4 into Season 5, same exact spot. That’s how we know it’s a 2K issue, it’s crashing at the same spot. It’s not the connection, not a missed update, not the hardware, it’s 100% 2K. They’re turning NBA2K into Madden because they no longer have any competition. If you want a simulation basketball game you have to buy 2K.
