Genshin Impact Reroll Guide (Update 2.8 / August 2022)

If you recently started Genshin Impact and are not happy with your squad, you can start all over with a reroll. Players of gacha games will know that getting your favorite character can be pretty tricky and a tedious task. Usually, you would have to collect Primogems and Fates to get a Wish. However, that can take a long time, and even then, there is no guarantee that you will get the character you’re looking for. That is why we will discuss the reroll guide in Genshin Impact.

If you got Kaeya, Lisa, or Amber after pulling the first banner, you might want to reroll again. Getting a solid 5-star character early on in the game is extremely useful. With that said, let’s look at how you can reroll your Genshin Impact account and start fresh.

Genshin Impact Update 2.8 Reroll Guide (August 2022)

Rerolling is a common practice in gacha games. The central concept is that if you do not pull a good character at the start, you can restart and start with a fresh account. It only applies to the first banner because anything after that will take a lot of time and is not worth it.

Getting an excellent five-star character on your first banner not only feels good but also allows you to build your team around that. Instead of waiting for weeks or months to collect enough gems to get your preferred character, you can reroll to get it early on.

How to Reroll in Genshin Impact

Unfortunately, you cannot just delete your save file and start again in Genshin Impact. It would help if you had a bunch of emails ready for this. First, you must play through the prologue and get to Adventurer Rank (AR) 5 to unlock Wishes. Here’s how you reroll in Genshin Impact:

  1. Create a new Genshin Impact account.
  2. Log in and play through the game’s prologue until you hit Adventurer Rank 5. This should take between 25-40 minutes
  3. Unlock the Beginner’s Wish banner by visiting the Knights of Favonius
  4. Check your in-game mail for any free Primogems and Acquaint Faints (there should be 1600 Primogems and 10 Acquaint Fates, enough for 20 Pulls on the banner)
  5. Pull on the Beginner’s Wish banner.
  6. If you are happy with the rewards, keep on playing. If you are unhappy, log out and start with a new account.

Best Starting Characters to Get

Now that you know how to reroll, it’s time to see which characters are worth getting. If you get any of these characters, you should continue playing the game as they are pretty good. Here is a list of characters that are good to get early on:

  • Beidou
  • Bennett
  • Ningguang
  • Sucrose
  • Xiangling
  • Xingqiu

There is only a 0.6% chance per Wish to get a 5-star character, so don’t be disappointed if you do not get one in a few tries.

That is everything you need to know about enrolling in Genshin Impact. We would love to see if you managed to get a 5-star character in your first banner pull. Let us know in the comments below what guide we should cover next.

  1. Just wanted to share that my latest reroll I tried 2-3 days ago (after the 2.4 update) did not include the 1600 primogems after reaching AR7. The 10 Acquaint Fates are still gifted though at AR10.

      • Can confirm there is no 1600 primos when reaching AR 5, just the 10 blue fates. I would recommend reaching AR 5, pulling on beginners banner (u will have 3 blue fates to spare which u can use on standard banner) and then use the masterless glitter (enough for 2 more fates). Going from AR 5 to AR 10 takes more time than starting over.

  2. The 1600 primogems is no more, they already removed it due to re-rolling also in the 1st place it was given for players who played Genshin around Sep ~ Nov. After that no more free 1600 primogems. What you’ll get for now is a total of 26 acquaint fates (blue)
