The game offers tons of gameplay choices to make sure you don’t run out of ideas before beating the first boss. One of them is the ability to summon spirits of the dead. While summoning fellow players in co-op is common knowledge, the criteria to unlock a different kind of summon has always been elusive to many.

Using Spirit Calling Bell in Elden Ring
The Spirit Calling bell is a special item that lets you summon spirits from ashes. However, getting your hands on it will be confusing, to say the least. Therefore, we will be showing you the proper method to gain this item in Elden Ring. Here are the steps you need to take:
- Play the game till you have reached the Site of Grace and have acquired the ability to summon Torrent.
- Return the the Church of Elleh Site of Grace and meet a witch named Renna. Have a word with her upon which she will ask you a question.
- Simply say yes by choosing “I can call the spectral steed”, After which she will give you two items. One being the spirit calling bell.
You will also gain your first summon: Lone Wolf Ashes as the second item. Simply bind this spirit to you and you are good to go. Whenever you use the bell, your character will summon the spirits. Keep in mind that the casting time for this ability is rather high therefore, you will need to maintain distance between yourself and your enemy,
