Randy Pitchford, CEO of studio Gearbox, has announced on his Twitter that their latest game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be launching with full cross play on release day. Pitchford stated on his Twitter that “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship on March 25 with full cross play for all platforms at launch, including PlayStation. Incredible work from the engineers at Gearbox Software with thanks to our partners at 2k Games and 1st parties, including Sony, for working together on this.”
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a spin-off game set in the Borderlands universe, the game is inspired by classic tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons while featuring the classic Borderlands gameplay and systems that fans have come to adore over they years. The game was announced last year on E3 back in June and has been one of the more highly anticipated titles of this year.
The Borderlands series has been going on for over a decade at this point with multiple entries in the franchise including a (fantastic) spin-off/sequel by TellTale Games that may or may not have eclipsed anything in the series in terms of story and character writing. The last mainline entry in the series “Borderlands 3” came out in 2019 was highly praised for its addicting gameplay and loot system while heavily criticized for its extremely bad story and poor writing.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is due to be out on March 25th for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X/S, XBOX One and PC. For more on the latest news, keep an eye out for our news section!
