What is Volatile Gear in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands?

A new rarity of weapons is now introduced in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands called volatile or chaotic weapons. These are the most powerful items in the game surpassing even the much coveted Orange Legendaries… At least the ones you’ll most likely find in the base game. These sort of ultra-rare weapons are known to be a staple in the Borderlands franchise. Borderlands 1 had Pearlescent weapons and Borderlands 2 also introduced an even higher tier with its final expansion pack with the rainbow weapons.

Somewhat like the Borderlands games too, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands requires the players to fill a few specific requirements in order to claim these super rare items. Mostly players will have to invest a hefty chunk of their time into Tiny Tina’s newest addition, the “Chaos Chamber”. So without further ado, lets get into how you can unlock these rare weapons.

How to Actually get Volatile Gear:

To get Volatile Gear players are going to have to reach Chaos Level 20 in the game’s newest Chaos Chamber which are a series of procedural generated dungeons that players can endlessly fight through. Whether it be in Co-op with a friend or few or all by your lonesome the dungeon offers plenty of replay-ability for all kinds of players.

To get to Chaos level 20, you’ll have to climb the ranks by doing the Chaos Trials in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. To enter the Chaos Trials, talk to the Dragon Lord in the Chaos Chamber after completing the main mission “Fatebreaker”

To ascend to higher tiers, players will have to do the the Trials on the highest available tier of difficulty, once they complete the dungeon, another higher tier of difficulty will be unlocked for them to quickly chew through. The higher you ascend into the ladder the chances are for the players to get the much coveted Volatile Gear. When you first start at Chaos Level 1 there’s almost a 3% chance to get a Volatile weapon as a Loot Drop, this number can go as up as 30% once you get into some of the highest tiers of difficulty into the Chaos Chambers.

Is the Volatile Gear in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Even Worth it?

Hunting for the Volatile Gear in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is absolutely worth it due to the sheer quality of the weapons you can get from a Volatile Drop(which is a word that I realize can be interpreted in some very…unseemly ways). Volatile Gear is still the best loot rarity in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

In terms of pure numbers, a Volatile weapon is about 40% stronger than anything you have previously found throughout the entirety of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. These weapons are meant for end-game and postgame NG+ content that will keep you engaged for the rest of the hours to come when you jump into Tiny Tina’s higher difficulties.

Higher NG+ difficulties have been yet another staple of the Borderlands franchise that’s been in the series since the very first game. Once you beat the Normal “Vault Hunter Mode” in Borderlands players unlocked a new tier of difficulty that scaled with their endgame level in the game’s “True Vault Hunter Mode” or TVHM for short. Borderlands 2 also got a new difficulty added to it later on called “Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode” or UVHM which was the ultimate challenge for all Borderlands fans. Here’s to wondering what could be next in the future additions to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
