This got players excited all over the globe, including us. With that said, let’s take a look at the Alan Wake 2 release date, new features, and supported platforms.
Alan Wake 2: New Features and Supported Platforms
According to the teaser, Alan Wake 2 transitions from scary-looking woods to a neon-lit city to a small town; all the while it’s raining. While the transitions are going on, we can hear a voiceover from Alan Wake himself warning us that “monsters wear many faces.” After the atmosphere has been set, we finally see Alan Wake’s face and he looks quite different than the last time we saw him. Alan has longer hair and a beard. His face reveal was the highlight of the trailer for most players.
Near the end of the trailer, players are greeted with a jumpscare as we see a bloodied Alan Wake looking into the camera while looking angry. Watching this teaser made every player excited to see what Alan Wake 2 has in store for us.
What Is The Release Date of Alan Wake 2?
At the end of the trailer, it was announced that the game will be released in 2023. While that may seem far, it is good that Remedy takes their time with the game and release and finished product. Sam Lake also said that Remedy will be going dark for the time being and will give us more information about the game in the summer of 2022.
While the original Alan Wake was released for PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One; Alan Wake 2 will only be available on next-gen consoles. The game is set to release for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
New Features
As mentioned by Sam Lake, the original Alan Wake had some horror elements to it but in the end, it was an action game. This time around, however, Remedy will be giving us their take on the survival horror genre. So, we can expect a much darker, grittier, and horror-packed experience.
You will play as Alan Wake and try to solve the story that will be filled with a layered mystery. Plus, Sam Lake said that even you haven’t played the previous entry, you will not be confused. Playing the previous game will only add to the backstory and provide more lore.
That’s everything we know about Alan Wake 2 so far. Needless to say, we are excited to get our hands on more information about the game and play it in 2023. We would love to know your thoughts about the game so far. Let us know in the comments what you thought about the teaser trailer at The Game Awards.
