From December 7 to January 3, you can claim the PS Plus games of December and play them. Normally, you’d get full games to play from start to finish but Counterplay Games is trying out something different. While you would be getting Godfall as a free game, you technically won’t. Counterplay Games announced that PS Plus members will get the Challenger Edition of Godfall which will be slightly different from the normal game. There are tons of things to cover so buckle up and continue reading to find out about all the details of Godfall Challenger Edition for PS Plus users.
Instantly Get to Max Level
This version will take players straight to the endgame and give them all the maxed-out gear and stats. You won’t be able to play any of the story missions except for the endgame activities. Players will start off the game at level 50 and will have all the skill points.
Dive Straight Into the Endgame Content
While you cannot play through the entire story, you can dive straight into one of the three endgame stories. The first story, Lightbringer, allows you to face hordes of enemies and gain tons of rewards. You will have to face the Heart of Darkness in the final battle to get rid of this threat.
Secondly, you can participate in the Dreamstones story. Doing so will place you in random encounters against enemies and defeating them will grant you amazing rewards. You can remove the curse from your Cursed Loot by completing this storyline.
Finally, the Ascended Tower of Trials will have players climb a tower of enemies with increasing difficulty. You will face deadly bosses along the way and earn juicy loot drops as well.
New Boss rewards
If you have purchased the game normally, you will be able to gain access to the Challenger Edition for free. You will gain additional cosmetics when you defeat the campaign bosses. Plus, you will be able to replay all of the story missions as well. Keep in mind that this is only for the players that have already purchased the game beforehand. If you are getting it for the first time due to PS Plus, you won’t have access to this feature.
Play Cross-Gen With Your Fellow Valorians
Getting the Challenger Edition allows you to play cross-gen with the PS4 users as well as the PS5 users. Having the ability to play with more players is always a good thing. This way, you’ll play through the endgame content with your friends and have a good time. On top of that, you can face various endgame challenges to earn legendary tier loot.
Upgrade to the Deluxe Edition
If you want to gain access to the main story of Godfall, you can get the Deluxe Edition. It not only allows you to play the Godfall campaign but also the Fire & Darkness campaigns as well. You’ll be able to unlock tons of various cosmetics, items, and other gear as well. Plus, playing through the main story is recommended because it gives you more insight into the world of Godfall.
