Ever since the announcement of Gotham Knights back in 2020, Batman fans have been eager for years to see a new game hosting the iconic Caped Crusader. The last entry in the franchise was back in 2015 with the release of Batman Arkham Knight.
The Arkham franchise had a long run spanning 4 games and ended with Batman Arkham Knight which was a good but controversial finale to the beloved franchise. Since then there had been little to no announcements about anything set in the Batman universe until Gotham Knight in 2020.
Fortunately, WB Games Montreal have just announced on Twitter that after a huge delay, Gotham Knights is finally set to come out this year on October 25. Gotham Knights will be an open world, action RPG where we play as the successors of Batman. As Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and Red Hood, we’ll be able to fight through a much more expanded Gotham City.
The game supposedly follows the somewhat controversial ending of Batman Arkham Knight which put an end to the titular hero’s long running saga. As of now, not a lot has been shown of it but we can probably expect a new trailer following this announcement.
Gotham Knights releases October 25 this year for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and the PC.
