Android 8.1 Oreo Running Successfully on PS Vita, Project is Called AndroLayer

PS Vita can now run Android 8.1 Oreo with full emulation on the handheld console. Jonathan Holmes, a software engineer, has successfully ran an Android build with full Internet tunneling along with the games themselves at more or less full speed. In a series of tweets, he has also explained how anyone with a spare PS Vita lying around can try this with their own console.

The one catch you need to know about is that your PlayStation Vita needs to be Homebrew enabled. In case you do have one of those Vitas around with you, it wouldn’t hurt running the full Android OS – and just may be, in the near future, you may be able to run Android games like Fortnite, Among Us or even PUBG Mobile.

This project is being called as AndroLayer, and full props to the developer from our side. We hope to see this go further.

Now that you have reached the end, this may well be an April Fool’s Day joke. We will know for sure tomorrow!
