DOOM Eternal Update 6.66 has just been announced by id Software and is set for an Oct. 26 release. The update will be bringing in an all-new game mode, Horde Mode, alongside BATTLEMODE 2.0 ripe with a new arena and ranked rewards alongside two new levels as well.
With DOOM Eternal receiving consistent updates, the multiplayer mode for the game still remains lackluster. Thankfully, the developers aim to fix that with Update 6.66 that will be adding in a new iteration of BATTLEMODE alongside more quick, action-packed Arcade-style variations as time goes on.
DOOM Eternal Update 6.66 – New Features
According to the developers, the update will be adding the following:
- Horde Mode
- BATTLEMODE 2.0
- Two New Master Levels
Of course, the update will also be including the usual bug fixes and stability improvements as well. Bethesda is all set to reveal Horde Mode to the entire world on its World Premiere happening on Oct 21, 7:30 PM ET, a few hours from now on their Twitch.

With the cancellation of Invasion Mode due to the pandemic, id Software has now committed to providing players with a brand new single-player mode that aims to bring in more diverse and competitive challenges to the mix. Here’s the teaser trailer for Horde Mode:
