The Far Cry franchise is one of Ubisoft’s best-selling and most popular game series, loved by fans all over the world. With the previous iterations being a huge success, Ubisoft has launched Far Cry 6, leaving behind Montana of Far Cry 5, into a Caribbean vacation in the fictional country of Yara, where things are, obviously, a bit chaotic.
Far Cry 6 will be featuring improved graphics and modern features like Ray Tracing, and AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology contributing to substantial file sizes. Fortunately, we have all the details you need before deciding to cram the game into your system’s storage.
Far Cry 6 File Size
It’s worth noting that Far Cry 6‘s preload size does not take into account the Day One patch, which can be of substantial size. So those already on the borderline of their system memory may need to consider freeing up some additional space for future Far Cry updates. Anyhow, here are the Far Cry 6 Game File sizes on all respective platforms:
Console File Size
Featuring 4k visuals and textures on 60 FPS, the console version of Far Cry 6 would be catering to a download size of 38.945 GB. Keeping in mind that the next-gen versions of games have slightly larger file sizes due to more detailed textures, the PS4 and Xbox One versions are rumoured to be around the 38 GB mark.
PC File Size
With PCs having more room to play around with visuals and textures, Far Cry 6 will take at least 60GB with an additional 37GB for the HD textures pack if you want to play in 1440p resolution or higher. It’s also recommended to install the game on an SSD to have better load times.
With the game released, these are the specific file sizes you should be keeping in mind before buying out the game. What do you think about the latest Far Cry installment? Tell us about it in the comments below!
