Battlefield 2042: Fix Mouse Input Lag / Latency
Players are reporting that their mouse stutters or doesn’t properly react to how they are using it. Your first thought would be that the mouse is broken but that’s not the case. This is a bug unique to Battlefield 2042 and it is extremely annoying. Worry not however, we have got a fix for just for.
Please note that if your FPS is fluctuating, try to adjust your graphics settings. If you are disconnecting from the game, check out the server status to make sure that Battlefield 2042 is online.
Fixing Mouse Input Lag Issues
First and foremost, make sure that your mouse is working perfectly fine and this issue is only occurring in Battlefield 2042. Also, make sure that you are using the best sensitivity settings to get the best results. Once you’re sure that this issue is unique to BF2042, you should try these steps:
- Lanch Battlefield 2042
- Open Settings
- Go to On Foot section
- Click on Advanced
- Turn off Uniform Soldier Aimng
- Also turn off Zoom Transition Sensitivity Smoothing
- Restart the game to apply changes

Fixing Controller Input Lag Issues
If you are using a controller or playing on a console and facing input lag or stuttering, we have a fix for you too! Unfortunately, this issue isn’t exclusive to only mouse or PC players. However, follow these steps to fix it:
- Launch Battlefield 2042
- Open Settings
- Go to On Foot section
- Click on Aim
- Put Soldier Aim Assist to 0
- Also, put Soldier Aim Assist Zoom Snap to 0
There are a few more settings that you can adjust to fix this problem. Make sure that you go into Advanced settings and follow these settings:

Turn Off V-Sync
After adjusting your settings, if you still feel like there is some stuttering or input lag, you could try turning off V-Sync. This setting is quite taxing and lowers your FPS as well. Turning it off can not only improve FPS. While this isn’t the ideal setting to turn off in this case, it’s worth giving a shot though. Some players have reported that turning V-Sync off helped them fix this issue.
