Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 8 Delayed

Microsoft Flight Simulator is an amateur flight simulator developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios. It is an entry in the Microsoft Flight Simulator series which began in 1982. The latest game in the series came out in 2020 and the game has seen regular updates since its release.

While Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 8 was supposed to come out today. Due to an unfortunate aviation incident, the update has been temporarily delayed, Asobo Studio recently announced in their statement.

The latest update will reportedly be adding a host of new content including visual improvements to Portugal and Spain, various new missions and multiple new airports. The full patch notes haven’t been announced yet and will very likely go live alongside the actual patch. Asobo Studio recently delayed the update due to a tragic plane crash in China carrying 132 people. Asobo Studio announced through a blog post that the update will now be releasing on Thursday, March 24th. The full statement reads as follows:

In light of recent tragic aviation news, we have made the decision to postpone our release of World Update VIII: Iberia until Thursday, March 24th at 2:00 AM PDT (0900Z). We extend our deepest condolences to those affected by this event.
