New World Known Issues | Bugs and Fixes

New World’s recent release has been a huge success for Amazon Game Studios as they have finally been able to produce some quality. The MMO has just been released on PC and has already reached a 600k Player Peak on their first day.

With only a couple of hours since the game’s launch, players have reported numerous bugs and glitches while playing. To help you out, we have prepared a guide identifying known issues for New World and their workarounds (if any).

Known Issues and Workarounds

Players have reported server connection issues, which we have luckily covered in detail in another post. This article will be featuring other issues and bugs which players have reported.

Can’t interact with the world

Those who can access the New World have found that various inputs, including the “E” key binding, can fail to function.

Queue Time Issues

Apart from long server queues, players have reported that server queues, including placements and related wait times, are inaccurate, leaving some unable to access the game.

Unable to hear Ambient Music

Many players have reported that they can’t hear any ambient music in-game. A simple workaround for this is:

  • Shut down the game
  • Verify game files on steam
Verify file integrity
  • Restart the game
  • Reset settings back to default

Input Latency Issue

Many players have complained about their character teleporting from place to place. They have reported that Input Latency spikes to 4k, making the game unplayable.

Attribute Upgrade Window Glitching

Players have also reported that upon reaching level 10, the Attribute Upgrade Window becomes a little weird. However, exiting to desktop and reentering has worked for some individuals.

FPS Drops

Extreme Frame drops have been reported by players since the Beta phase. The issue is linked with looking in a certain direction. Although no proper fix is known yet, here is a possible solution:

A clean Restart of Windows

  1. Press Windows Key + R and enter msconfig , then click Ok
  2. In general window / tab
  3. Go to the Services window / tab
  4. Click Hide All Microsoft Services .
  5. Now click on Deactivate All.
  6. Go to the Start window / tab and click on Open Task Manager.
  7. Deactivate every program there in the Autostart window . (Please do this for each program that opens in the autostart)
  8. Restart the PC and open the game.

While you’re at it, also make sure that there are no resource-consuming programs in the background. We would also recommend updating your graphics driver as well. Nvidia has also recently released an optimized driver for New World.

There also have been reports regarding 80/160-hour achievement bugs and the server being faulty.
