Fans of the Sonic franchise have been waiting for a proper Sonic standalone game for a long time. We are happy to say that players are finally getting their wishes fulfilled in the form of Sonic Frontiers. However, the latest news according to the Playstation Database might disappoint some people. The Sonic Frontiers release date is set to November 15 next year.

Sonic Frontiers will be an open-world game that will feature tons of exploration and activities for you to participate in. This is a good step for the Sonic franchise as – let’s be honest – the transition for Sonic into 3D wasn’t the smoothest.

While we haven’t seen detailed gameplay yet, the open-world zone has us excited to dive right into the game. Admittedly, the latest few Sonic games have been a disappointment but Sonic Frontiers looks and sounds promising.

Having Sonic’s agility to explore the vast open area sounds like a dream come true for most fans – us included. If Sega Japan and the Sonic team can put in the right amount of love and care, this game might be one of the best Sonic games of all time. With the release date set to next year, Sonic Frontiers doesn’t have a lot of details available right now. However, we are certain that more news about the game is soon to follow considering the hype it is building up.
