There are a few new champions and items introduced in this update. Plus, there is a new fan-favorite game mode being introduced in Wild RIft that players are sure to love. Not only that, but ranked players will also get various rewards according to their rank placement. With that said, let’s dive straight into the guide and find out all the new features in Wild Rift update 2.6.
League of Legends: Wild Rift 2.6: New Features
There are many changes brought to Wild Rift in this update, so buckle up and get ready to find out what exactly is added to the game. We are super excited for this update as it brings in some of our favorite stuff in League of Legends. Without further ado, let’s find out what additions were made to the game.
Kayle and Morgana
Update 2.6 brings in the two sisters – Kayle and Morgana – to Wild Rift. With the addition of two new champions, the game will surely feel different and give players more options to choose from. If you are a fan of story-telling, you can participate in the limited-time event Path of Justice to learn more about their past and their relationship with each other.
Participating in this event will also allow you to get either Kayle or Morgana for free depending on who you side with. Make sure that you take part in this event and get a free champion. Both of these champions are extremely good and really fun to play as well. Morgana is a support champion that excels in the bot lane. On the other hand, Kayle is a top lane champion that is a hyper carry in the late game. Her ultimate ability allows you to either make yourself or one of your teammates invulnerable for a few seconds.
Dr. Mundo is already present in the game but ever since his rework in League of Legends, players were wondering when his VGU update will happen in Wild Rift as well. The good news is that Wild Rift players will finally be able to play as the new Dr. Mundo. This is a massive rework that changes the champion but he still has the same core gameplay mechanics.
There are two shield items introduced in update 2.6 – Banshee’s Veil and Edge of Night. First, the Banshee’s Veil is a magic resist item. This item gives you a shield against CC effects after a few seconds of cooldown. This is especially handy if you are being poked down by an enemy laner.
Secondly, the Edge of Night is an item for assassins that allows them to delete enemy targets. It not only gives you armor penetration but also a CC shield-like Banshee’s Veil.
Hextech Megadrive lets you reduce the cooldown of your items whenever you heal or shield allies. Finally, Ixtali Seedjar is an item made for junglers that are looking for HP and ability haste. Plus, it gives you seeds of a plant that you use in the jungle so you can replant it and use it again.
This season, players that finish in Gold or higher will be able to earn the Glorious Orianna skin for free. On top of that, you will also gain Season Points that will allow you to place higher in the next placements. Plus, you’ll also get Ranked Coins that allow you to purchase previous Glorious skins if you missed them the first time around.
Since there are a bunch of champions in Wild Rift now, players have been asking for a champ select just like in League of Legends. Riot has finally listened and they are introducing the champ select feature for the first time in Wild Rift. Players will have the opportunity to ban various champions and select their own once it is their turn. This makes it easier for you to ban champions that you have a problem facing.
There are tons of skins being added to Wild Rift in this update. Some of these are from League of Legends while the others are brand new skins being introduced in Wild Rift. Riot has confirmed that there will be even more skins than the ones that they have told us currently.
