The Open Beta for Battlefield 2042 will be beginning next week on all platforms. But, the file size for the game has been leaked and we have the complete information for you to read down below. Featuring only one map and game mode at the start, the game seems to come in at a reasonable size allowing most players to get a taste of the critically acclaimed franchise.
The Open Beta itself will be starting on Oct. 5 with players who have pre-ordered the game allowed to pre-load the game earlier than everyone else. Since the game file size has been revealed, we can anticipate the beta pre-order links to be coming out really soon as well.
Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Game File Size
Since Battlefield 2042 will not be coming with a Campaign Mode in general and since the Open Beta will only have one map, Orbital with only Conquest accessible in the Open Beta for the game. Therefore, it only makes sense that the game file size will be a bit smaller than usual.
PS5
The game file size for Battlefield 2042 on the PS5 comes in at 16.861 GB without the Day One patch installed. This is quite reasonable and we can presume that since there’s only one map, 4K textures will be included.

PS4
We still are not sure of what size the game will be on the PS4. However, as per rumors, the game file size of Battlefield 2042 on the PS4 will either be 10 GB or 18 GB. This is all dependent on the compression used by developers and if high-fidelity textures will be included.
Xbox Series X | S
The update will be coming in at about 17.23 GB for both versions of the Xbox and will be featuring high-res textures and next-gen graphics.
PC
We still have no information on the size of the Open Beta on PC. However, we can anticipate that it’ll be close to the ballpark of the PS5 which means that it’ll be coming in at around 17.7-19 GB
